Savings programmes for retail

Savings programmes where retail and customers both win

We take care of the complete organisation of savings programmes in supermarkets: from the first idea to the last redemption.

What is a savings programme, and why does it work?

A savings programme is a temporary retail promotion in which customers collect savings stamps or points with every purchase, redeemable for a premium product at a heavily reduced price — customers save up to 65% compared to the retail price.

For the retailer, this means more store visits during the campaign period, higher customer loyalty afterwards, a higher average basket value due to the savings threshold, and margin through redemption sales.

From concept to follow-up

Full design and production of the savings mechanism and in-store communication.

  4. Logistics

  5. Redemption period

Support during the redemption week, including in-store.

  6. Follow-up & evaluation

Results reporting as the basis for the next campaign.

Planning and duration

A savings programme typically runs for 4, 5 or 6 weeks of saving, followed by 1 week of redemption. Campaigns always start on Thursday and end on Wednesday.

For supermarkets such as Delhaize and Spar, we offer our savings programmes to each store separately. Every store is completely free to make its own planning and to choose which savings programmes it runs, for how long and when — so there’s always a reason to save throughout the year.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after the saving period?+

After the saving period comes a redemption week, in which customers redeem their full savings card in store. IMFACO takes care of the follow-up and evaluates the results together with the retailer.

Which collections are available for a savings programme?+

IMFACO has a growing portfolio of proven collections, including Friends of the Ocean, La Vie en Plage, Wout Bru cookware, acacia wood, kitchen textiles, crystal glasses, throws and SiSi Maison scented candles. A completely new bespoke concept is also possible.

Can IMFACO plan several savings programmes in succession?+

Yes. IMFACO plans several consecutive, non-overlapping savings programmes, aligned with the season and target audience. For supermarkets such as Delhaize and Spar, we offer the savings programmes to each store separately: each store is free to draw up its own schedule and to choose which savings programmes it runs, for how long and when.
